Both were in their early 20’s and had ambitions of horological mastery, living as they did in one of the world’s hotspots for prestigious watchmaking, Le Brassus, Switzerland. Audemars was the maker of the finest component parts while Piguet was an expert in assembling the movement and regulation. They founded their own private firm in 1875. Since that time member s of both families have always served on the board of the company as it has grown to be one of the most highly recognized brands in all of Swiss watchmaking.
