Let’s start with some good news! While Doxa ceased operations in about 1980, it has now been revived by the Jenny family of Switzerland, owners of the brand.
Among Doxa’s unique creations is the Sub300t, its unique orange face watch more visible in murky water. Doxa consulted with famous divers to create this watch with features vital to the diving industry. The Sub300T was purchased by many U.S. divers in need of a watch with reliable performance.
This watch can calculate decompression times and other information helpful to divers. The earlier models could work 300 meters below sea level, and later versions function up to 750 meters below sea level. In addition, the bezel has a descent marker, consisting of two colored dots on each ring. The diver turns the bezel so that the dots line up with the minute hand at the start of each dive.
Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society chose the Doxa Sub as the Expedition Team’s official time keeper. Doxa has continued to refine the Sub, issuing a SUB 600T Professional (water-resistant to 600 meters), and a SUB 750T Professional (water-resistant to 750 meters).
